The Federal Government has taken another step toward advancing Nigeria’s digital economy through a strategic collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Finance and Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).At a high-level meeting in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, met with the leadership of NIGCOMSAT to discuss how satellite technology can be harnessed to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and accelerate economic growth.The discussions focused on expanding connectivity, improving access to digital services, and deploying satellite technology to support national development priorities across sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, security, and commerce. The partnership is also expected to create new opportunities for businesses and communities by extending reliable digital access to underserved areas.The initiative reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to building a resilient digital economy through innovation, technology-driven solutions, and stronger collaboration among public institutions.
